Xbox 360 Red Light Repair When The Power Supply Light Is Orange
When
dealing with the dreaded red light, your power supply light is going to
be either red, orange or green. You obviously want it to be green
if at all possible. However, if it is orange you are still not
out of the doghouse quite yet. Here are some Xbox 360 red light
repair tips when the power supply light is orange.
An
orange light that is illuminated on the power supply of your system is
going to occur for one of two reasons. The problem is going to
occur because the console is turned off or because the power supply is
disconnected from the console. This type of behavior is fairly
common as it indicates the power supply is in standby mode.
What
confuses many people is the fact that the power supply light can still
be illuminated orange even if the console is turned off. The
reason for this is because the power supply cord is probably not
inserted completely inside the power socket of the console. When
you have to begin worrying is if the power supply light is orange but
the console will not turn on.
If this
is the case, Xbox 360 red light repair is probably on your mind.
There are some basic repair steps you will want to take. First,
start by turning off your Xbox 360 console. You will then
disconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console.
In
order to disconnect the cord connecting the power supply to the
console, you will need to unplug the power cord from the wall
socket. After doing this, disconnect the power cord from the
console. You can then reconnect all of the cords and try to turn
the console back on. If your console will still not turn back on,
you will want to refer to the troubleshooting steps that can be found
in the Microsoft knowledge base article.
To
prevent this problem from even occurring and having to go through Xbox
360 red light repair, there are several things you can do. First,
make sure that all of the ventilation openings in the power supply are
free to ventilate. Also, make sure you do not put the power
supply on a bed or sofa as this will block the ventilation
openings. Lastly, do not put the power supply in a confined space
like a bookcase or rack, and do not put it on a stereo speaker or heat
source that can radiate heat.
